Worst game ever

This is my first review of an app which tells you that this is truly something special. Pay attention to the details and you will see why everyone is raving about it. Its an experience, not just a game.

It was a random find for me, but what a simple but wonderful game. It brings me back to games like Beyond Zork. Well worth you time and .99 cents.

I was looking for puzzle/Strategy/mentallystimulating. There really isnt an adult category for people who like to problem solve anything other then word and candy games. There needs to be more games of this nature and be defined by a more specific genre. Id equate this to a darkly-intense realistic version of a game if Limbo and Oregon Trail bestowed upon us this fantastical game. I love the simplistic design; 3D such graphics are good got movies... But I want to expedite and get the max of game time. Additionally, I love its seedy yet very vital undertones. Im new to the adventure... Late to getting the memo. Im addicted to finally competing this and hopefully finding anything equally as comparable.

I began searching for a test adventure game on the app store. I came across a dark room as the closest thing I could find. The game appeared simple and minimalistic, giving it a unique and interesting look. The sentences of story telling were enough to make me curious. The game slowly progressed from a simple click and gather to an adventure game, and then into an emotionally gripping, but simplistic story. The game manages to capture the imagination with the small details and ideas it gives, and leaves room open for visualization and interpretations of all kinds. The game gives subtle clues to details that piece together the story, and the description of the character, making it intriguing to find out more. This game is wonderful from all aspects, and it shows a game doesnt need fancy visuals in order to give the player a unique experience. May the fire burn brightly for you wanderer, may it keep you warm.

Ive recently been getting more into text based games and decided to try ADR out. I was a bit puzzled and honestly bored at first, but as the story progressed and new elements were introduced I almost went crazy trying to figure the story out. It got my imagination running wild and I couldnt put it down. Definitely worth a download and just be sure to stick with it. Youll be happy you did

Ive never played such a simple yet unique game. The gameplay stays interesting throughout despite being so minimal. What an adventure! Definitely worth the dollar.

Great game

When I first discovered ADR I was just scrolling through the apps looking for nothin in particular. But what I found was something very special. At first ( as Im sure a lot of people felt) I felt I was cheated. It took me a while to actually sit down and play the game. My curiosity got the better of me. As I sat there playing not expecting much I became engrossed with the game and felt my curiosity grow with every surprise. There was time I had to get off just to contemplate what I had just gone through. I was always thinking about the game during the day, and couldnt wait to pick up my phone and play. I cant believe the simplicity of the game. At the same time I began to see that in its simplicity was very deep meaning. As I played I began to feel that I was actually a part of this world. I find my self wishing to experience the game for the first time over and over again. At the same time I never want to forget the feelings I have felt playing this game. I cant recommend this game enough and it is on top of my favorite games list.

This game isnt close to what I expected, but it was amazing. I played it fairly compulsively.

I love text-based games and I love that every once in awhile, a whole new field of possibilities opens that you never would have anticipated. VERY intriguing. I also wanted to play it again once I was finished.

A truly unique, mystifying experience. Could not put it down. 100% recommend. Youll understand once you play it, trust.

This game is by far for someone who enjoys an adventure or strategy game. Without giving any spoilers, I was a little saddened by what was happening the first time through. The second time, I chose to do it without the huts. It didnt take too much longer actually (200 min the first time 270 the second). Although the alternate ending was different, it wouldnt be worth it to someone who didnt enjoy the game the first time through. I enjoyed the alternate ending very much though. It satisfied all that I wished had happened the first time around. Youre definitely not paying as much for a game.. More of a story! Overall, I loved taking my time and obtaining all the items and exploring the entire map! Great game, very hard to set down! Five stars!

Played this game for 6 straight hours. Great game!

I got this game, and was intrigued immediately. Its amazing how a simple text game could make you feel emotions. But sadly, I figured out when I finished the game I missed a lot of the story since I was too lazy to read the text. READING THE TEXT IS IMPORTANT. The realizations they throw in really help you invest yourself in the gameplay. BUT I LOVED IT.

This game is about survival, and it is challenging and fun

I honestly rarely leave reviews for anything, but for this game I just had to. When I first started playing I was thinking what is this lame game... 2 minutes later I was hooked! I have played it over and over and over and each time feels like the first time... A true work of art. Best part is its only a dollar so get it, try it and love it!

I love playing this game even after "beating" twice. I personally like text based games because you can come up with your own image of the game. I give my word that this game is worth way more than $0.99 and that you will enjoy at least as much I did.

This game had so many emotional ties and made it so much more life like than that of any other game Ive played, I laughed, got depressed, as well as anxious! This game truly beats any other!

Not someone who writes reviews normally but felt compelled to leave one for A Dark Room. Just as everyone else says: the games worth is beyond the 99 cents. This game is simple in appearance but profound in impact. Get ready for an emotional, imaginative, and philosophical few hours as you retreat into the depths of your psyche. Im not a gamer by any means but Im proud to be a part of the ADR community!
